Join the Dreadwood community and celebrate Halloween all October long!

All the creative elements you love about Halloween can be found within Dreadwood Haunted Forest.

As a walk-through haunted trail, Dreadwood Forest breaks down boundaries between the audience and the performer in a unique way. We welcome volunteers that are actively involved in theater and looking to take their character expression to the next level, but we also welcome those who just love to scare in the spirit of Halloween. The nature of our Haunt makes us fun for all levels of experience.

Dreadwood is an opportunity to make friends and have fun while scaring the pants off people, with profits going to charity. Volunteer and be invited to come to our end of the season party, which includes a slideshow recap of all the fun we had, socializing and time to offer suggestions for the next year. We also call attention to those who have contributed in unique and valuable ways.

Not interested in scaring? We are also looking for people to be part of our community by helping with make-up, guiding, parking and security.

Happy Haunting!

Questions about volunteering?
"I was a guide last year and I had so much fun that I am bringing lots of friends with me this year!!"
"I have volunteered every year and will be there again this year. I look forward to it all year long and count down the days until I can get back out in the woods to scare again."
"I hate haunted houses, things that jump out at you, and bumps in the night. But I was persuaded to help one year and thought I could park cars. I was put to work greeting people and had so much fun I returned every night after that. This will be my third year helping to scare people. I still hate haunted houses and things that go bump in the night, but I'm so glad I gave into my fears to join this fabulous group!"
"I liked working as a Scary Girl because it was fun putting ice cream in my hair and getting all dirty"
"I was a witch. My job was to throw flamables into the fire. You can't go wrong with organic pyrotechnics! "
"My wife and I volunteered the first year and had a blast. I volunteered again last year. We have to take this year off since my wife is due in October with our first child, but I want to come back next year for sure."
